Change of Scenery WATP

I feel like we should trade Matt Harvey to the Red Sox for Drew Pomeranz in a change-of-scenery deal.

Both guys coming off pastings by the Brewers.

Both guys are taxing their bullpens.

Both are strikeout guys struggling with the home run.

Both are 28 years old (Pom 4 months older)

Both are arb eligible in 2018, free agent in 2019.

Both were 1st round picks in the 2010 draft (Pom-5th by the Indians, Harvey-7th by Mets).

Pom needs out of Fenway; Harv needs out of NYC.

Harvey higher upside, Pom arguably more reliable.

Pom a lefty curveballer, Harvey a righty fastballer.

Key to this deal could be the throw-ins to get the Red Sox an extra body for 3rd base and us more depth for the rotation/bullpen. Say, Reynolds and Heath Hembree? I never even heard of Health Hembree but he's not bad stats show.

Interesting, good digging. Their salaries are really also not too far apart
according to one place I looked and that can be adjusted with bodies if
it's an issue.

Re: Change of Scenery WATP

Reynolds seems to be about as redundant an asset as the Mets have right now. He may be their best shortstop, at least until Rosario shows otherwise, but damned if he's going to have a chance to show it.

"Heath Hembree" has the whiff of Random Name Generator With Too Much H to it. His hair and general aesthetic thing? Redolent with Allman Brothers Concert Parking Lot/"Got Two Extra."

Ladies and gents... Kenny F$cking Powers! Let's do it!

Re: Change of Scenery WATP

Drew Pomeranz left his game today after 3 innings [2 R, 3 Hits, 3 Walks, 3 K in an eventual 11-2 Boston loss] with "triceps tightness".
As of now he's not expected to miss his next start (according to himself anyway) but we may have to WATP ourselves a different target for Harvey.

I was on the Kevin Gausman train, but he got lit up yesterday too. I don't know.
