Everyone check out Channel 18 on Sirius, if you love the Beatles.

As per Howie during yesterday's broadcast, the new mixes on the anniversary rerelease (produced by George Martin's kid!) are Billy Sheer Listening Bliss.

And it's perfect timing for me because usually I like to listen to the old serial shows, Jack Benny, Johnny Dollar, etc and lately it's Bob Hope all the time, yuk.

It's a preset in my ride. I play "guess which Beatle is singing" with the kids. Fgirl is pretty strong. Fboy throws out a random guess as soon as he is asked, even if the vocals have not started yet.

My kid used to love-- LOVE-- the super sad Beatles stuff. Like, "Rigby" or "She's Leaving Home," over "Penny Lane" or "Good Day Sunshine" or the early singles, all day, every day. Still probably does, though the preference was much more pronounced when she was 3-4.

The orchestra teacher of my kids' middle school would have the orchestra play Eleanor Rigby during the 8th grade moving up ceremony. I made a point of complaining about it, but the Chinese-born teacher insisted that nobody cares about the song's lyrics. I complained enough about it that they played something else during MK's year, but I'm sure this idiot teacher went back to it once we were out of the school.
