The Tgar Band

After a year and a half of wifey's passing and doing zilch I got off my arse and wrote an 11 song album based upon characters we created together. The album is titled "Indiana State Fair."

I am mixing it now on an old Traynor (Long & McQuade) 36 track board. My first job out of school was as a sound technician for Toronto based Long & McQuade's only U.S. store.

Adult sensibilities abound i.e. Davey & Goliath get a very special bag of glass from the Irwin Mainway Toy Company.

Genre: Pop ala Crenshaw, Nile, Westerberg ish.

Single to be loaded on http://www.reverbnation.com soon. The single is You and Me/ As Tears Go By (Stones cover.)

First gig third thursday in July at Hoovers Tavern Rt.53 Mt. Tabor NJ

All in the name of Ashie1.

Thanks for reading

Re: The Tgar Band

Thanks all. I will put up a digital link soon if anyone wants to hear it.

I am reminded not much beats a 1959 Les Paul Jr. TV Special.

Got it at the old Alex's on 48th for $750 in 1977. They go for about 10K now.

Epiphone makes an excellent copy for $149 on Guitar Center. Got one for most outside work.

Re: The Tgar Band

Thank you!. I finally decided to use a Tascam DR-05 home recorder and download mp3 to reverbnation and I believe Broadnet. .

"Indiana will be up in about a month.

Started #2 named "Parsippany Calling." The style is bubblegum which to mean you had better have a killer chorus and hook.

I think I have one.

Title of song "Chummy Bummy"
Chummy Bummy , you've got my heart!
Chummy Bummy, sick when apart!

Chummy Bummy, sticky sweet!
Chummy Bummy, can't be beat!

CHORUS

MILLION DOLLAR HOOK/RIFF

Two verses with an upward key change and a cold out at 2:32 seconds.

Hoping some girls get a "Good Girls Don't vibe and the olders get a laugh at a few double entendres.

Nice to dream. Thanks for the support!

Re: The Tgar Band

The Tgar Band premiered at the Rattlesnake Ranch Cafe in Mt. Tabor N.J last night

Set list.

1. Please Please Me.
2. The Kids are Alright.
3 Lola
4. Cruel to be Kind
5. Think I'm in love/ Robyn Hitchcock
6. Yellow Submarine
7. Happy
8. I Wanna Hold our Hand
9 Mellow Yellow , the flutephone girl killed it with the "quite rightly" backgraound vocal.
10. Gimme Shelter.

There were no casualties and it seemed like people payed attention which is rare.

We are editing material now to upload on a few sites and have a photographer for the next gig.

This was easier 25 years ago and yes I am exhausted..

Be well.

Re: The Tgar Band

After a grueling few months we are about two weeks from dropping some covers.

Problem I had was tuning. I play a chord in the open and barre position and if they match I'm good.

I spent a month listening to the tapes and dangit I'm out of tune!!!

Downloading very soon.

1. Alright Now-Free
2. Mr. Tambourine Man-Dylan
3. So You Wanna be a Rock n Roll Star & 8 Miles High by the Byrds.
4. Happy Stones.

The original material still needs cleaning. We tire easily lol.

One step at a time.
