That's .943 OPS Marcel Ozuna riding the pine in favor of .532 OPS Ichiro Suzuki.

Mets, don't let that opportunity pass you by.

Re: IGT 6/29 Rolling Along

No Conforto. That's 4 days (including the off-day) since being hit on the hand or 4/10th of a DL stint. If he was getting better it would one thing but Terry said that it's getting worse so DL him and add a body. Why play down a player?

Cool, they get on the board with a solo homer, and Lugo just continues on unabated. Very Bartolovian.

The Phillies have an off-day while the Mets play tonight in Miami. Does the CBA fix such inequities?

That coming-across-the-bag DP just turned was exactly the type that Murphy failed to turn (he never got it out of his glove) which continued the Cubs 9th inning which led to them scoring
twice and stealing the game earlier today.

Nah, there are always going to be those situations. It's tough enough to make the schedule without then having to synch-up mutual off days.
The only thing I know that will kick in next year is a requirement that get-away games be day games if the team getting out of town has to cross more than one time zone.

R. Rivera guns out Dee Gordon stealing. Close but he was out.
Not sure why Mattingly didn't challenge it anyway. He gets six challenges per game, right?

Mets have these RH hitting second basemen types coming out of the their butts. Reynolds, Cheech, TJ, Flores -- all decent players.

Yeah, although I wouldn't exactly tab Flores as Mr. Fundamentals
The rest though would bring a shot of youth and daring onto this team which hasn't had a lot of either recently. The vets on this team don't necessarily take either of those running chances, and if they did they might have been out.

Nice inning from the Edge. K's Stanton and induces Yelich into the GiDP

On the DP that ended the previous half-inning, not much Bruce could do on that one.
But more importantly, there seem to be a lot (as in far too many) of that type of hit off Reyes's bat this year, balls that start out looking like decent line-drives up the middle but wind up
without enough oomph behind them to even get out of the infield. Probably a sign that he's getting beat more often than he's used to. #slowbat

Mets go 7-2 Nats go 5-5.

Mets would be just 1 game under .500 at the break and a not disastrous 7 back in the loss column.

That's when we can get hope back out of it's box in the closet imo.

That's also oddly possible given how crappy the Mets have been most of the year.

Re: IGT 6/29 Rolling Along

This was the 100th 6-3 win in Mets history. This inconspicuous score had not emblazoned itself upon a Mets victory since last September in Cincinnati.

Among the more noteworthy 6-3 wins in Mets history:

May 7, 2016: Mets 6 Padres 3; Bartolo Colon homers.

April 23, 2015: Mets 6 Braves 3; Mets finish 10-0 homestand, tie team record with 11th straight win.

April 9, 2015: Mets 6 Nationals 3; Matt Harvey makes successful return from Tommy John surgery.

April 5, 2014: Mets 6 Reds 3. Ike Davis pinch-hits come-from-behind walkoff 9th-inning grand slam after Terry Collins makes first replay review challenge (and gets a call overturned)

May 29, 2012: Mets 6 Phillies 3. Jeremy Hefner homers. Last Mets win after which it could be said the Mets had never thrown a no-hitter.

September 7, 2008 (N): Mets 6 Phillies 3. Santana and Delgado star in night half of Shea's last day-night doubleheader and last showdown between the two rivals who were fighting for the division lead.

September 21, 2002: Mets 6 Expos 3. Esix Snead homers to win it in the bottom of the eleventh.

October 3, 1990: Mets 6 Pirates 3. Frank Viola wins his 20th, the last time a Met would do so for 22 years.

September 13, 1990: Mets 6 Pirates 3. Doc Gooden beats Doug Drabek in critical NL East showdown, with Darryl Strawberry homering -- basically the last great moment of the best era in Mets history.

July 9, 1989: Mets 6 Reds 3. Juan Samuel homers off Rob Dibble, wreaking vengeance for the previous day's beaning by Dibble of Tim Teufel (and offering much satisfaction after the brawl that ensued).

July 22, 1986: Mets 6 Reds 3. Just the game where Dave Parker drops the sure third out in the ninth, the Mets tie the game, it goes to extras, Knight and Davis go at it, several are ejected, pitchers shuttle between the mound and the outfield, Gary Carter plays third base and, oh yeah, HoJo hits one out in the 14th.

July 9, 1982 (2): Mets 6 Reds 3. The formula for 1982 -- Kingman homers, Foster homers, the Mets win -- happens for the first time all year.

September 19, 1967: Mets 6 Dodgers 3. The Mets' first-ever amateur draft choice, Les Rohr, makes is promising major league debut and, in doing so, becomes the 54th and final player to appear for the bustling (if futile) 1967 Mets.

September 3, 1965: Mets 6 Cardinals 3. Jim Hickman becomes the first Met to go deep three times in one game.

August 24, 1962: Mets 6 Dodgers 3. It's the first 6-3 Mets win and the first time the Mets beat the former Brooklynites in Manhattan -- their only home win against the frontrunning Bums and, conceivably, the game that cost the Dodgers the NL flag, considering they wound up tied with the Giants at season's end and how on earth did the first-place Dodgers lose to the last-place Mets? They beat Don Drysdale, en route to a Cy Young (25-9), no less.
