That photo's from a presentation at Hofstra 2012 (Mets 50th anniv.) on the topic of Mets uniform history. That presenter has an historically interesting collection of rare Mets unis, including the one shown. I attended that specific presentation which (and this was my favorite part) at the question/answer section at the end of the presentation, degenerated into a virtually totally unanimous shout-down of the Jackie Robinson rotunda.

I did not know this stuff. Just plucked it from twitter. I could possibly like it. I'd like to see a button down version with at least something around the collar. The NY.....meh, but I think I could live with it on the road uni.

I think maybe the Mets do need a new look, we've swung back to conservatism now for several years and I think we can all agree it's time to break to with that shit, and there's hardly any way to continue that now. Junk the pinstripes! Let's get some orange happening! LETS FUCK THINGS UP

I thought orange would be way kool back in the late 70's when I drew this. I was a fan of the new unis hitting the majors, like Oaklands green/yellow/white tops.
