As if that image isn't bad enough, the presence of Trump makes it all the worse. That's a 2006 Trump who had probably never even heard of Barack Obama. Or Kenya, for that matter.

Hell, tell him to properly place Missouri, Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming and Nebraska and it's an even bet he screws it up. (I always mentally think Colorado is more north than it is, the elevation/cold plays tricks on me.)

But look. He's not even in rain gear, but neither is he particularly wet. He probably spent the whole game in a box (if he was there at all) and then snuck down at the end hoping to bandwagon onto something special. Because he's a fake and a fraud.

This just dawned on me. it was raining? I was there. mentally, not so much after the point in the photograph, but I have no recollection of rain. I remember the constant drizzle during Ventura's Grand Single game ,but not this one.

It was definitely raining (obviously) -- I remember being at the Greenwich HS college fair that night, and was on the LIE headed home listening on the radio when Endy caught that ball and nearly skidded off the road in the combination of excitement and rain.

In that LCS Beltran hit .296 with 3 HR's and had a 1.054 OPS. Stole a base and played brilliant defense. He's as much to blame for the 2006 NLCS as Piazza is for the 2000 World Series.

as painful a memory as it is, Beltran watching that curve ball called strike 3 wasn't the reason the game or the series was lost. He took way too much shit for that.

Beltran's got perhaps the most bullshit narrative of any Met, extending back to his very first appearance in uniform, when a Spanish-speaking media person got the first question at his introductory press conference. Some guy at Amazin' Avenue made an incredibly original "Don't let the door hit you on your way out!" post when he signed with Cardinals. I made the obvious observation that he had already left the door months earlier when he was traded to the Giants, and man, did folks line up against me. Beltran "never went full extension for a catch," and he "disrespected wounded veterans" and hates America. I posted 6-12 photos of him in full extension, his Tal's Hill catch, his breaking his face apart in San Diego. All that proved was that I, too, hated America. Where do we pull the bus over and let the I'm-not-a-racist racist Mets fans off?
