What did Gary say? In discussing the partial comeback in Game 1 Gary referenced the time they DID come back from eight runs down -- occurring on this date in history as it turns out -- which he credited Greg for passing along the info with a plug for FaFiF in the process. I believe GFaFiF mentioned that game here just recently.

Aoki quit on that early, I think. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a couple of innings before the Mets have their heads remotely in the game.

Do these guys ever hit it AT someone? Astros have no XBHs in this game and I can't remember any liners either, so each of the seven hits has been a grounder that found a hole and Lugo has recorded only 2 GOs

Why did they pick up this 35-year-old Aoki anyway? The Mets have no future in 2017 and he shouldn't have any post-2017 future with the Mets? Some 'kid' getting ABs this September would be more entertaining and productive.

Because you need three outfielders, most teams have a minimum of four and usually five, yet we had two (2-1/2 at best) and none if you count full-timers and only one if you count only those who have at least 150 career ML ABs. With the two best outfielders hurt, the third- and fourth-best traded, the Mets are down to the fifth, sixth, and (nominally) the seventh. Aoki showed me close to nothing out there today, though.

Terry on why he gave Dom Smith the hit sign on 3-0 against a LHP (1st & 3rd / 1 out) while Gary & Keith were sure he was taking: “Why the hell not?” The result was an RBI double
