Memories of Fernando Salas

Lost in the shuffling is the Mets gave Fernando Salas his release waivers, so he's a definitive goner, too.

Lent a helping hand down the 2016 stretch. Sucked from early overuse in 2017. Was probably better than Neil Ramirez.

I think the Mets knew they had a dead cat bounce and brought him back only because they couldn't get any relief pitchers in a Bruce trade.

Good run last year but never anything special about his game other than whatever second wind he got from the trade and a rubber-y arm.

Arrived late this spring and shoved into every game in the month of April, seemed like, assuring a rough start he couldn't get straightened out.

Probably goes to some other club and pitches OK for a short time.

An unreliable cog in the bullpen - occasionally capable, but too often not.

Re: Memories of Fernando Salas

Angels signed Salas to a minor league deal the other day. Good luck out west.
