Forget about merely firing Barwis, can a case be made for suing the guy for damages based upon professional malpractice?

I'm not joking.

Re: 2018 already in trouble

Hopefully it won't be twelve months. That seems like a worst-case scenario -- which, of course, can't be ruled out -- but most sources seem to be saying six to nine months. Six months would have Conforto ready by early March, nine months by early June. And while missing two months of the season sucks, it's not necessarily the kind of thing that would doom the 2018 season.

Given how poorly 2017 has been, I am, of course, skeptical about a full rebound in 2018. But I wouldn't go so far as to say that Conforto's injury is the thing that puts 2018 in jeopardy. It was already there.

Barwis was doing what he knew best. The onus was on Mets management to see if it's contractor/employee was doing what was needed to get the player's ready to play baseball rather than to merely become stronger (if the two goals are mutually exclusive).

We must have a dozen articles with opinions from outside medical folks by now.

Re: 2018 already in trouble

So you want to make the case that Conforto's injury, one which he's reportedly had twice before, is a direct result of medical malpractice which is just now being discovered by his employers of (five?) years?
Good luck with that.

I know that you were addressing the initial comment but for me, I was thinking of the hammy injuries not Conforto.

Conforto popped the capsule that stabilizes the shoulder. Shit happens.

Citifield was built on an Indian burial ground.

So shit either happens or it's pre-ordained ... got it.

I thought that Citi Field was built on the Shea Stadium parking lot.

Which was built on the ash heaps that F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote about.
