No matter what you may have heard, the Primanti Brothers sandwiches with the soggy french fries are awful! Get something else instead!

Definitely one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, stadium in MLB.

Stayed in downtown Pittsburgh. On the advice of metfairy, we walked across the bridge to get to the game. Highly recommend it. It's a terrific experience. Walk back too.

All seats are great, but if you sit along the third base line, you can enjoy the skyline behind you as you watch the game. Simply breathtaking.

Regretfully, we didn't leave ourselves enough time before the game, but the area surrounding the park has great food that we would have loved to have tried. The locals say that the food in the park is crap. And many echoed BG's assessment above.

We drank I.C. Light. Pretty sure IC stands for Iron City. Comes in a black and yellow can. It was just ok. Nothing special, but when in Rome...

I also recommend going when Jacob deGrom pitches a gem and returning hero Neil Walker hits 2 HR's. Makes the experience all the more better.

It's a town that generally gets lots of nice summer weather too.

Visited for the first time this year and loved everything about it. Intimate park, great view of downtown and the bridges. Helpful ushers who gave us suggestions for a good spot to take in BP (he even helped us get the attention of Tyler Pill, who tossed little Solo a ball).

Head to Manny's BBQ beyond the RF outfield along the concourse by the river, food was great and not expensive. We even talked with and took pictures with Manny Sanguillen!

We stayed in the southern part of the city, but our hotel offered a shuttle into downtown, where we could walk across the bridge. Great experience.

This is absolutely my favorite ballpark. It's absolutely beautiful (with incredible views to boot), the fans are particularly welcoming of visitors, and it does a great job of honoring its team's history. The Friday night pre-game street fairs are very entertaining.

It's funny that as of right now, the OTRA Forum has three threads, PNC, Camden Yards, then Petco.

Of all of the road stadiums I've seen, this is exactly how I would rank them.

When we were there in 2014 we stayed at the Marriott that's just across from the stadium's parking lot. It was very convenient; we were able to get back to our room within minutes of the final out. I suspect it might be a fairly expensive option, however. When I booked it I used points, so I don't know what the price in dollars would have been. There are certainly cheaper places to stay in Pittsburgh, but none could be more convenient to the stadium than this one.

This isn't gonna be a PNC Park post, since I've never been there. It's on my list, though. It's not even a Pittsburgh post. It's a Florida post. And it's a Primanti's follow-up post, which is integral to the Pittsburgh baseball experience, I suppose.

So I've always been intrigued by the Primanti offerings. They're always appearing on some foodie show or other and billed as a fast-food/comfort food destination eating experience that's so tasty, it's worth any length of travel. It's part of Pittsburgh's history, enjoyed by generations. On the one hand, I was always skeptical because the stuff, you know, the overloaded sandwiches drenched in french fries and everything else but the kitchen sink looked like total dreck to me -- a real crapfest. I couldn't imagine how those sandwiches could be tasty. But on the other hand, 50,000,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong, I suppose, even if they never ate at Primanti's.

Anyways, a few years ago, I finally got to try me some when I was in Florida and discovered that there was a Primanti's in Fort Lauderdale. What a mistake. As I suspected. No kidding .. this was about as bad an eating out meal as I ever had that I can remember. I ordered pretty quickly, but after our orders were placed, and I began getting acclimated to the place and looked around at what everyone else was eating and what was going on behind the counters, I realized before my food would be served that this place sucked. Crappy meats, and pizzas that looked worse than the worst supermarket frozen pizzas. I thought the place was white trash heaven. And as expected and like I said, the food sucked so bad, I only ate most of it. So I still don't get the wild over the top enthusiasm for this joint, and now I can say it from experience. The only possible excuse I can come up with is that maybe the F.Laud location is not representative of the Pittsburgh joints.
