Sandy Martinez is the sort of journeyman catcher who always finds work in March. If he hustles his ass off he gets to this season's John Pachot, or Mike Difelice, or Joe DiPastino.

A single by Marlon Anderson before Aaron Heilman racks up his second and third strikeout and cruises through the second.

That HR by Diaz is still the only hit off Jon Rauchstar, who's whiffed 6 in 5 innings.

I would think a torch would be more effective than a stake when battling one of Frankenstein's monsters. They don't like fire.

Sorry. Elvira flashback. Now that I think of it, Edgy's "rising from the slab" could have been a great pun about the pitching rubber. Later

This game is tied up on an exchange of runs in the seventh. Todd Self doubled and went to third on a wild pitch. Chris Woodward was hit by a pitch, then, after a whiff by Sandy Martinez, he stole second, and Self stole home on the throwdown.

The Mets just put up five in the eighth:

A Basak double and Martinez home run do nothing for me. Only 19 days.
