This game's pretty entertaining. It almost went sniffle-sniffle through six,
'cept for a bobble and then throw into dugout play that everyone will see
many times on Sportscenter.

I ain't glued to it, but CBS' coverage of the Road to the Final Bore is just
freakin' ridiculous so this is better.

Oh, and it's 1-sniffle now.

I love golf.
But people who think baseball is boring should watch 10 minutes of each and then tell me they still think baseball is boring.
I love golf but its sooooo damn boring to watch.

Cuba takes the lead 2-1

Fidel's boys take a late inning lead and may advance to the finals after almost not being allowed to compete.

There's definitely some talent on this Cuban team ... but they've been lucky as hell for 2 straight weeks now. They were within a hair of being eliminated in the prelims (LET THE BALL HIT YOU REUBEN!!) and have put together more rallies with dinkier hits than anyone I've ever seen. They've got about a dozen hits in this game -- about 4 of them have been hit hard.

Their pitchers all seem right out of the El Ducky mode: lots of pitches, take forever to throw, pick-pick-pick around the zone, and give up a lot of baserunners but never let them score. They've been bailed out by tons of DPs - some on account of bad plays by the opponent.

At one point Jon Miller is talking about the Cuban trainer who is one of the sons of Fidel; so he's saying something along the lines of:
'there's [whatever] Castro, the team trainer who's the son of the Cuban ... ' -- and then he paused several times as if searching for the correct word, and I'm screaming "DICTATOR ... DICTATOR ... say DICTATOR Jon" -- but he wimps out and settles on 'President-ay'

Yeah that was funny when Miller was yapping about Fidel's son, team Doctor/Spy....and Cuba wins a very good game...the game tonight should be a cracker....go Seo

"Team Spy" is right, you know he's there to remind potentiak defectors what will quietly be done to their families...

Omar needs to talk to that Cuban 2nd basemen... I love him. Too bad there is no realistic chance of him coming.

Is it me or is that kid freaking huge for a 2nd baseman?

He's a big boy. He plays third in Cuba, which makes a bit more sense. He's been incredible at second, though, and has an absolute gun for an arm.

I can see why people are so high on him--patient at the plate, good power, good fielding, good arm, and he's fast too.

Oh, and he's only 21.

He's got everything.

He would look amazing playing second next to Wright, Reyes & Delgado.

Ah then him playing third in Cuba makes sence, plus his two errors today could be chalked up to youth.....I love his swing, I would love to hear Fran Healy break it down...." arms extended, eyes on the ball, look at that balance Keith"....
