Bad-News Paulie

While looking at the projected roster, trying to see who was the most immediately threatened by the arrival of Anthony Swarzak, it quickly appeared to be a choice between Chasen Bradford and Paul Sewald. Looking at their relative performances, it became clear that Sewald was now on the outside looking in.

I opened this thread thinking LoDuca was in trouble.

Yeah, of all the Pauls in Mets history, Lo Duca is the one that most readily comes to mind when you use the name "Paulie."

Isn't that funny? So many years ago. We have no idea who he actually is. But left such an impression on our lives.

First person I envisioned upon reading the thread title was the infamous Paulie Cee of the MOFO. I guess he made an impression on most of us that were around before the CPF existed.

I mean, in so far as I'd buy him a coffee and a sandwich if he were stuck outside and hungry on a cold night, sure. Do I care about his ohfer? Not so much.

I feel like Seaweed most often was better than he actually was, used a whole lot for a guy nobody thought would get 10 innings, and if the stack of acquired releivers and converted starters makes getting a gig hard for him then that's all to the good.

Paul Sewald, despite pitching more or less successfully most of the year, is now 0-9 on his career. This places him in a category unto himself, with the next most desperate winless pitcher in team history at 0-5.
