Going to the Game 2018

Mets Willets Point
Dec 16 2017 06:38 PM

Got tickets to take the kids to see the Mets play the Red Sox at Fenway Park on Friday, September 14. Hopefully both teams will have big leads in first place of their respective divisions by that time so that it won't matter so much who wins and who loses.

Re: Going to the Game 2018

As per our usual routine, eyeballing summer weekday matinees as a one day, there and back trip with the kiddos. Right now there are three choices and I am more inclined to pick one of the earlier two.

Wed Jul 25 12:10 vs SD
Weg Aug 8 12:10 vs CIN
Thu Aug 23 1:10 vs SF

As per years past, would happy to coordinate with Metfairy, d'Kong or anyone else who's available on one of those first two days for a meet up. We sat in the 200 level last year and those seats were pretty sweet. Though we like the upper deck, too, as long as we're on the infield.

So it looks like the first week in April is my last week on LI -- so what say we all take in a game opening weekend? Cheap seats on Saturday 3/31 or Sunday 4/1, anybody? (Yes, I know it's Easter, but my family is 400 miles away, so I'm pretty wide open.)

Dammit. I would have loved to take you up on that but I'll be in Texas. We are going to visit the Rangers and Astros while there.

Re: Going to the Game 2018

Looks like July 25 matinee is the day (Fgirl is at camp for the Aug 8 game, and Aug 23 is the first day of the NYS Fair so I'll be there that day).

I'll be bringing both kids and meeting with Metfairy (confirmed via email) and any other parties interested in sitting with us (I know KC showed interest earlier in the thread). Likely to get a block in the 300 section again as we liked the club access, A/C, shorter bathroom lines, etc.

Can make plans to buy a continuous row or seats in two rows adjacent to each other for maximum schmoozing mid game and allow folks I know to reimburse me via Paypal, Cash app, or whatever. Let me know via private message, here, email, Twitter, Instagram or your favorite archaic communication format if you're coming along.

Last chance to get in on the Fman family bandwagon, going to buy tickets for this on Monday, for Metfairy (not CPF'ing but still loving her Mets), KC, and the Fkids and I (and possibly Fwife depending on her work schedule). Any other takers, let me know, I can cover cost of tickets for reimbursement between now and then.

I'll be in Denver next week, so I bought a seat for the Thursday gay dame against the Rox.

My personal attendance Mets losing streak is up to nine going back to 2016. I'm not terribly confident that I'll break the streak, but I'm still hopeful.

Anybody wondering when to visit the Baltimore/DC area? Well, how about July 23-25?! That's when the Binghamton Rumble Ponies are playing the Bowie Baysox!

See tomorrow today in the persons of Justin Dunn and Nabil Crismatt! Or see yesterday today in the living flesh of stalled prospects like Marcos Molina and Champ Stuart! Watch Mickey Jannis confound thousands with a dancing knuckleball and a single-digit number on his back! Find out if Tyler Moore is gonna make it after all!

And THRILL to the transcendent cultural phenomenon that is Tim Tebow! Unless he's been promoted to Las Vegas! Or New York!

The MDs will be there! Possibly the bmfcs too!

My son and I have tickets (Section 421) for the Saturday, July 14 @ 4:10 PM game against the Nationals. After we get settled into our room on Friday, we plan to take the train into Penn Station. We plan to grab some dinner then have a few beers while hopefully watching the Mets game on TV.

If anyone will be in the Manhattan area on Friday evening, we would relish the opportunity to get together over a beer while watching the game. If anyone will be attending that game, we would like to meet up before or at the game on Saturday.

The last 2 times I came up for a game, my friend and I ate at Virgil's on Friday evening. May wish to try something different this time. We are looking for any restaurant suggestions that any of you might offer. We would also welcome any suggestions as to where we could get a good draft beer and watch some of the Friday night game.

We are open to suggestions. We like food of various cuisines (Greek, German, Italian, Mexican, and Thai) and cultures. Not very familiar with French restaurants, simply because there aren't many near us (Raleigh) and they are often upscale. We are just looking for good food in a casual atmosphere as we plan to do some walking around before and after dinner. If you know of a casual French restaurant we would be willing to give it a shot. We are open to any suggestions you could provide us.

We plan on doing a Korean restaurant (near our hotel) on Saturday or Sunday.

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing you again. We plan to get to CitiField around 1:30 to have a few beers and take in the atmosphere. What is the best lot to park/tailgate in?

My son is pretty excited about this trip. He is looking forward to his first trip to CitiField. His only trip to Shea was for the infamous MOFO picnic in August 2001. He was at the CPF road trip to RFK a few years later.

Oh, I just noticed it was Bastille Day and was just being... something.

Kang Ho Dong and Jong Gro (sp?) are good Korean BBQ joints in midtown... Her Name Is Han is an interesting Korean joint with some tasty, inventive takes on staples if you're up for NON-tableside-grill Korean. If you're willing t wander JUST a little more, Atoboy (on 29th, IIRC) does some kickass small-plates Korean stuff, all chef-ified and surprisingly affordable.

On Sunday, we'll be taking our grandson to see his first pro baseball game. It will be a AA Eastern League game at Dunkin Donuts Stadium, the home of the Hartford Yard Goats.
https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/ ... fr=yfp-t-s

Its supposed to be the best stadium in the minors. The ballpark is only a few years old, so I'd expect that to be true.
