Memories of Travis Taijeron

It snuck under the radar, but ... well, apparently, a month ago, the Dodgers signed Travis Taijeron. I mean CBS sports and SNY reported it, but milb.com still has him listed as part of the Vegas roster.

If it's true, fair tidings to him in parting. He played three PCL All-Star quality years in Vegas, while the Mets resisted calling him up, seemingly insisting that his was the sort of performance that wouldn't translate to the bigs, and when they were forced to call him up anyway, they appeared to be seemingly right.

He homered and he won a game with a walkoff single. Pretty good keepsakes.

Couldn't catch a cold, but come winter that's not a bad thing.

Yeah my lasting impression was formed seeing him in a spring training game in 2016. I knew then he'd have to hit twice as good as he had in Vegas to have a real shot at big-leaguedom. You know, 70 home runs and 175 RBI. 30 and 90 wasn't going to get it done.

Sorry Travis. You won't make me forget John Milner.

Re: Memories of Travis Taijeron

I rooted for him to make the bigs and was happy when he did.
Wish you well, Travis, but not when you play against the Mets.

To steal Jim Bouton's description in Ball Four, 'he had a glove like a tuning fork'. The Dodgers will probably make less use of him than we did.

I was at the game where he homered, but that's about all I remember.
