Bruce, Walker, Reed .... DePo?

That probably means a house-cleaning is in order. He seemed to be respected in his Mets role. Think there is a chance they bring him back in some way? Or is his specialty too similar to what Omar is going to be doing?

They fired their GM and brought a new guy in. Supposedly the head coach is safe. I guess if Depodesta was in trouble they would have dumped him along with the GM

Was kick coverage failing to keep a kick return from turning into a touchdown and the receiver dropping the ball in the end zone all in the final game part of the plan?

I think DePo’s role has been taken by Minaya. I don’t mind throwing him into the mix. Another Harvard guy is never a bad thing to have around. But I’m not sure how good he actually is. Not sure exactly what he had a hand in during his Oakland days, but his time in LA was unremarkable. And his player development was nothing special here either. His track record with the Browns doesn’t help matters. Makes you wonder if he isn’t a bit overrated.

DePodesta wore two pretty big hats for the Mets: Vice President of Player Development and Scouting. When he left, Alderson said specifically that a corresponding hire wouldn't be made, as Depodesta had worn so many hats, his responsibilities would be spread around. This struck me as at a little odd, because those were two departments that needed a hierarchy, but I think he meant that they wouldn't be replacing him with the double hat. Ira Levin is now the director of player development. Tommy Tanous, who has long been the chief scout, is now vice president of international and amateur scouting, and a pretty anonymous guy for someone who has held such big roles
