ALL ABOARD!
Newsday, August 14, 2017.
The Mets look ahead, with misguided optimism, to the four-game series against the Yankees.

THANK YOU CARDS
Newsday, July 21, 2017.
A walk-off single by Jose Reyes gives the Mets a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals at Citi Field.

I voted Thank You Cards, because the other one is like watching your car just about to go over a cliff. That upcoming MFY series was not a pretty sight.

I'm all aboard for ALL ABOARD. Great photo of a Metly celebration. The Skanks hadn't happened yet. I let these covers freeze me for a moment in time.

If they didn't put a comma in there on THANK YOU, CARDS it would have been a closer call. It's correct english and all but I think it would have been cooler and had a double meaning without the comma. I'm referring to THANK YOU CARDS of the Hallmark variety.

My problem with ALL ABOARD is that there is no train. The metaphor of Subway Series is stretched. The headline doesn't really match the image.

I don't like either much. I've noted earlier that I like the lightburst at the top of the ALL ABOARD photo, but that's not much. Newsday continues to leave me cold.

I note that there are contingents out there lobbying for re-signing Bruce, Walker, Reed, and Duda too.

But nobody's agitating for Granderson's return. You should start a thing.

I could see Curtis being what Rusty Staub was in 1984 and 1985, but with the 17-man pitching staff, there's no longer room for such players.

This is true. The photo is what grabbed me.

This poll has closed, and THANK YOU, CARDS becomes the second cover to advance to the Final Four.

An underwhelming finalist.

Let's hope that the Mets do better next year so at least the TCD is more satisfying.

the mets dont have to be good to generate good back pages. I feel like voters failed to embrace the bad news this year, like they failed to embrace urinals last year.

I just got the "thank you card" pun. Totally missed that every other time. Oops.

This. I'm fit to be tied whenever I read that someone automatically won't vote for a cover because it depicts a loss or a "negative" event.

The All Aboard cover was pre Subway Series, right? So it wasn't negative yet...
