Movin' Out

Hey, kids! Buy our house!

My wife got a sweet job with the libraries at the University of Rochester, so we're headed up to the land of long winters, AAA baseball, and easy hops to Canada in case of megalomaniacal presidents.

I'm still searching for a job myself, but I've got a few irons in the fire already, so we're hoping to have everything and everyone settled by mid-spring.

Long Island can barely stand to get any dumber, it's loss. Best of luck out there!

I read on the interweb it's old and drafty, so no thanks.
Seriously, best to you both on your new adventures.

You'll be close to your alma mater so that's a plus! Plus, you know, trips to the 'Cuse to see Mets games and all. We'll have to put a Seawolf/Fman night together at some AAA park this summer.

They will. Mine do. It's beautiful up here, like a postcard (buried under 11 feet of precipitation).

Re: Movin' Out

In one of those one in a lifetime chances, seawolf and I missed each other yesterday at the Rochester Lilac Festival. But I am happy to say that his new city is beautiful and WELL WORTH exploring (seawolf, if you can find a book that focuses on the High Falls and the history of such, please let me know...)
If I had paid enough attention, I might have met this wonderful guy and his family. Geez.

But honestly, guys, Rochester is a great town (kudos from my brother, my mom, and my son in advance, son what was I waiting for?) and please visit. Worth the drive!

And weirdly, though it's maybe 80 miles north of me, it's got better weather

Re: Movin' Out

Oh and by the way, at our hotel breakfast today were a number (a large number) of Lacrosse players from another team that had lost a championship to the Rochester team (but they were still very polite) so congrats to that Rochester team...
