ha, thats funny. Look at the greatest scoreboard known to man and the universe! And it seems the way announcers talk has gone downhill since. Maybe it's just the old recording techniques, or the words used, or that background music.... I dunno. *I salute Ed Herlihy!
And he's gotta go bring up the Yanks when there was no comparison. The media fueled that "rivalry" even then! Well, it's true, attendance wise we beat the crap out of 'em. But I don't care. I'm sure I've said it before. I don't even think about the Yankees (or the A.L. in general) unless we are playing them. My best buddy growing up was a Yanks fan and we would talk about what was going on with both together, and we'd both learn a lot about each teams players. It made me a better & more knowledgeable fan of the game. I'll never hate the Yankees. I have too much respect for my buddy as well as the teams accomplishments.
Now Jeter,...that's another story. Ha! I kid. Like with Reggie's '77 series, when Jeter made that cut-off play .vs the A's I had to think: Okay, you really ARE as awesome as they say.
