Where else do you post?

Edgy's Beltran post got me thinking. Do you guys post anywhere else? About the Mets or otherwise?

This is the only message board I post on. Though I read this one about Syracuse Basketball from time to time:

https://syracusefan.com/forums/syracuse ... l-board.2/

For social media, I'm on facebook and twitter. No Insta.

Re: Where else do you post?

Social media - facebook.
Mets - here and very occasionally on another board which has fewer than ten posters. One of the regulars here is someone I asked here from there, and I am here because I was asked by someone who used to post there. (That person isn't here any more)
I used to post on another Mets board and participated in some Mets trivia threads, but not any more.
Football - Jetsfansunited.
General baseball - the first baseball board on which I posted was called FASTBALL.com. It was for fans of all teams. When that was going downhill due to trolls and immature fans, a group broke off to start the invitation-only Dickie Thon Fan Club(the DTFC). It was mainly Blue Jays and Red Sox fans and one other Mets fan. It was very active. The members met annually in a different major league city for a weekend of baseball, food and (lots of) drink. That site spun off the now famous Sons of Sam Horn site (mentioned here every once in a while) and is now mainly a strat site. They still meet every year in a different city for their strat draft. But there is a general question of the day and I stay connected with them.

I spend a decent amount of time on The Bench: http://www.thebenchtrading.com

But my card collecting has slowed down significantly in the past year or two.

Re: Where else do you post?

Pretty much only here. There's a Facebook Group about my hometown of Smithtown that I've been posting in a little bit lately, but it's a new thing, an intermittent thing, and I'm not sure how long it will last. I was also in a classic movies forum on Goodreads for a little while a couple of years ago, but it was pretty lame and I didn't stick around.

Re: Where else do you post?

Fully banished from Facebook for copyright infringement in my guitar videos. They shut me down a second time last week and I'm all done there now. I post here and to Instagram now. I tweet only to the President, to tell him personally what a piece of shit he is.

I used to post to an XM fan site, back before they merged with Sirius.

Re: Where else do you post?

Baseball-wise, only here. I post to one of my collecting sites occasionally.

And I'm fairly active on a political board.

Virtually nothing on Facebook and I don't even participate in any other social media.

I also post on Nikon Cafe, the iPhone 7-plus forum at iMore, I occasionally tweet, and post images to Instagram, and Flickr

Facebook, Twitter, The Straight Dope Message Board, Giraffe Boards, and the SFWA forum (members-only site).

Re: Where else do you post?

I clicked on a random link on Giraffe Boards (I was looking to see how their phpBB style differed from ours) and this is the first post I read:

So, today I was watching this video of this guy who had an injury to a artery or something, and when the gauze was removed he would squirt out a stream of blood. So I suddenly had this funny thought, what if you deliberately cut your arm so that blood would squirt out in a stream when there was no pressure, and then walked around public, going up to people as a prank and saying "hey, have a look at my arm" and then removing the gauze and spraying a line of blood into their faces. I think this would be hilarious as people would never see it coming. But I wonder if it is illegal, even if your blood was clean? Imagine going up to taxi drivers and opening your wound and spraying pressurized blood into their faces, then quickly running away? The best bit that no one would expect it, since all there would be is you holding a red gauze to your arm. How about running into an office building and just squirting blood over the receptionist and then going up the elevator into the offices and spraying blood all over the workers and papers? You could probably just write it off as a panic attack while injured if you were caught as well. This honestly just seems so hilarious to me right now.

I've said it before, this is fuckin deplorable!

Mets msg board wise I only post here. Once I found this cool crowd I was done looking. I used to go heavy on twitter during the season and I hope to do that again in 2018. Was pretty active on tumblr, not as much recently and don't plan on picking up the pace there. Pinterest gets a lot of my graphic work. Google Photos pretty much force me to use their photo albums for the MFC project. I no longer mind because they work very well together.

Now facebook is another story, even Mets wise. I joined a few Mets pages and I have an online/fb Mets fan friend who joins me up to all the rest. I really don't mind (I can opt out-I don't), but now I am a member of many, many Mets pages. Maybe all of them, for all I know. I also joined old TV show pages and some can be pretty active. Facebook has been a big time sink for me since New Years and I'm in the process of cutting back. But it's so easy to get lost there bouncing from one notification to the next.

I don't only make Mets memes:

Yea, the red shirt and TOS phaser hit special effect kinda cancel each other out. Makes for a tough gig.

The usual places you'd expect: GILMORE GIRLS chat rooms, HELLO KITTY collectibles sites, as well as various places for keeping up on all things KARDASHIAN (speaking of which, does this latest birth make Bruce Jenner a grandmother?)

OK really just this place.
- I'll toss up a post once every blue moon on John Sickels' MINOR LEAGUE BALL site - more to ask questions than anything else. Lots of the stuff there is guys arguing over who's the 17th best prospect in some org which is far beyond my level of interest in prospects and a bunch of it is fantasy related which also doesn't interest me.
- For a while there was a secret post-LF identity over on the MoFo. He would stir things up and, as a result, made himself wildly unpopular, but I haven't even peaked over there in years now.
- and for a while I would occasionally check in with an Astros board. Not surprisingly they hate New Yorkers in general and Mets fans in particular more than warm beer and cold BBQ put together but actually liked (or at least tolerated) me. A couple of them did anyway. But I also haven't been there in so long now that I didn't even bother to drop by an congratulate them on their WS.

Re: Where else do you post?

I have never had a Facebook page and I don't do twitter. The CPF is the only message board I post on. I do have a reasonably active LinkedIn page, but I check it less frequently now that I am easing toward retirement.
