I'm not necessarily what you've been looking for to come along and save your outfield situation, but I'm advancing while Champ Stuart and Wuilmer Becerra and Jayce Boyd grind their gears. Even Desmond Lindsay's in a holding pattern.
But I've played well enough to move up every year, if only, you know, just, and when last season ended, I shipped out to the Arizona Fall League and set the golden desert on FIRE, hitting .351 — good for fifth in the league — and earned myself an invite to big league camp, if not a roster spot.
And yeah, you may be thinking that an invite is just a piece of paper, a gracious bone thrown to an organizational spaniel like myself. But look at itthis way: The Mets are thin in the outfield. Oh, they got some good players, but their all-star leftfielder who plays out of position in center is out until May 1 and possibly later, and look, they're likely breaking camp with only four outfielders. They're the only four on the roster, and three of them spent a lot of time on the DL last year, and the fourth spent a lot of time on the Indians. I'm, like, seventh on the depth chart here, and you can't even spell my name.
Learn to spell my name, and then tell me what I'm going to do with it in 2018.
