EXPECTATIONS FOR 18: Seth Lugo

Big whoop. Ty Kelly was a Texas Israelite. That team will take all the ringers they can get their hands on. But I was Louisiana Puerto Rican, and that's no small thing, Amigo. That's a tough bench to get a seat on. You know why? Spin rate. I got spin rate coming out of my ears. I can't stop spinning the baseball. Everybody's talking about it. You turn on the news and it's Seth Lugo and his spin rate. Did you know that I use a full roll of toilet paper every time I poo? I just try to rip of a few sheets, but I give the roll a snap and it just keeps spinning. Spin rate. Everybody wants the guy with spin rate. It's the new thing. How long I can keep dining out on this, however, is anybody's guess. So I've gotta pitch better than last year. And you know what else is anybody's guess? How I'm gonna pitch in 2018. So come on. Back with a vengeance... then out in August with the URL. He'll have 15-18 mostly-effective starts with flashes of brilliance in the meantime.

Without the World Baseball Classic to screw up his spring, I think he goes on to have a great year! Stepping into the rotation when Matz has the inevitable injury.
