The Mets have picked up lefty reliever Fernando Abad, recently released by the Phillies, on a minor league deal.

I think they should have signed recently released Scott Kazmir for the major league minimum and seen what he has left in the tank. There's no structural damage, he was suffering from the typical Spring Training "tired arm".
