Not a bad send by Sherlock. Would have wanted him held if no outs and definitely sent if two. One out makes it a bit of a gray area but I can't fault him for the out.

Well, the SB we got away with was the Lagares swipe of 3rd. Not only was he out but it was a bad idea to begin with. But, as tends to happen so far in 2018, it all worked out for us.

This was very much a case of the Mets beating the Mets while the Nats stood there. It's not like the 2018 Mets haven't benefited from that scenario as well.

One game isn't a big deal in the course of a season. It's what happens afterwards. The bases loaded escape by deGrom was a big deal for that game, but it became more important because the Mets went on to sweep. Win the next two and it will be ok. It's just that the pitching matchups aren't in our favor as much as it was yesterday. Ever since I was kid, the Mets will lose a game in April that makes me lose my mind, then remind myself that it's just a game, and that it's a long season and that I should chill the fuck out. Yesterday was that game. Usually it comes much earlier.
