Re: MCU movie viewing order

I'm telling you, Hulk, while being a (mostly) stinky movie, is canonical. The Incredible Hulk is generally classified as a reboot, but is more of a sequel, even if it's a sequel that allows you to ignore it's predecessor if you choose.

Also, there are the several canonical TV shows. WHAT ORDER SHOULD I WATCH ALL THOSE EPISODES RELATIVE TO THE MOVIES, MAN?!

Captain Marvel will eventually move into the 2 slot, from what I hear.

Lets not get Vic started on Captain Marvel again.

And don't get Fman started about "The two-slot."

And Ant-Man and the Wasp, I guess, will drop back to somewhere between 14 and 19.

here's a viewing order that includes the TV shows:

well, the story will start early in the MCU chronology, but it'll go right up and into Avengers 4, so it'll need to basically be a flashback that will then serve as the lead-in to the conclusion of the series.

oh, you mean MS. MARVEL? Or do you mean the actual Captain Marvel, the Kree warrior, Mar-Vell, to be played by Jude Law in the upcoming MS. MARVEL movie? Or do you mean the original Captain Marvel, now owned by DC and known as Shazam?

Re: MCU movie viewing order

Why do you recommend this order rather than the order of production?

Re: MCU movie viewing order

its the chronology of the interior world of the MCU, showing which events preceded which others on their timeline.

Re: MCU movie viewing order

The mammoth master cut could take timeline jumps (flashbacks, credits scenes) within a movie and push them forward or back in the chronology.

Re: MCU movie viewing order

Yeah, that's the ideal way to do it. That final scene from First Avenger, when Steve Rogers runs out into Times Square, would be delayed until after, I don't know, Iron Man 2?

Re: MCU movie viewing order

I like Vic's point of showing them in chronological order, but I would show Phase 1 (Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers) in production order, and what follows in chronological order.

We are given a quick history of Howard Stark in Iron Man 1 & 2 - He basically shows up with no needed explanation in Captain America, and is nice call back to the IM movies.

moronic list.
Ghost Rider? Thor 1? Iron Man 3? They don't even make a top 30 list.

Re: MCU movie viewing order

As it turns out, THOR and IRON MAN 3 did make the top 30 (at 28 and 25, respectively), but not top 20, with GHOST RIDER finishing near the bottom (45).

Re: MCU movie viewing order

I've seen most of these movies. The exceptions are the Blade and Punisher movies, the second Deadpool, the second Ghost Rider, Elektra, Howard the Duck, and the 2015 Fantastic Four.

Was the omission of Man-Thing intentional or unintentional?

But Blade III gave us Ryan Reynolds in unmasked snarkiness. That should be worth something.

Oddly enough, I watched Howard the Duck back in the day (my youthful crush on Lea Thompson played a part). What an odd choice for the first Marvel movie.

Re: MCU movie viewing order

I would consider it more of a George Lucas initiative than a Marvel initiative. But yeah, the only big screen Marvel character before that I can think of is a bunch Captain America single reel serials from World War II.

Whatever happened to that superhero tournament that we had on the Crane Pool a few offseasons ago. I feel like I know who a lot more of the characters are now.
