Miserable last 20-21 games, but who's counting.

The lead over Washington once stood at 7 games. It seems almost incomprensible that such an advantage could be squandered in such a short time.

During the win streak they were getting a ton of timely hits, Herculean performance from their bullpen, and winning a ton of close games. We all said at that time that their method of winning wasn't sustainable, and now we are really getting a look at the flaws on this team.

They're clearly not as bad as they've played this week, but they are in some serious trouble.

Seems that things took the turn when we lost the catchers. I wonder if the pitchers were struggling to throw to unfamiliar receivers, and if the game-calling was coming from the bench or the catchers.

Re: Monday Morning Misery 2018

my problem with the Mets blowing out a team is i always feel like they're using up runs they'll need for other games. Now i know, rationally, that it doesn't work that way. I know that. But there is some primeval reptilian part of my cerebellum that clings to such thoughts. Perhaps i just look for reasons to be worried and unhappy.

I have often had the same thoughts as Vic during Mets blow out victories. It's like, "Oh great, where was that offense yesterday?" Or "I wish you would save some for the next game."

Of course, after that drubbing of San Diego, the Mets returned to CitiField and went 0-6 while being shut out in 3 of the games. Maybe they should have saved some of it for another game.

The Mets need to get back to winning series and they need to start in Cincinnati.

A week ago I'd be pissed about a loss like this and it would eat at me until Friday night.

Today, I stepped into a meeting during the final innings. When I came back, I wasn't surprised at all to see they had lost, and I find I'm barely phased to find out.

Maybe they have another hot streak in them, but I don't see any way these guys are a realistic contender.
