I mean, they got SOMETHING for a guy who was essentially valueless on the trade market (as desirable as he may have been as a somebody-else-is-paying-his-freight flyer)... that it was a guy who potentially fills a roster hole slightly less badly than the current hole-fillers makes it a double win, no?

Ken Rosenthal has his sauces, and they give our Devin a less than tangy scouting report: Mesoraco's defensive skills are diminished; one scout says, "Good luck with him trying to catch Syndergaard, Matz and Wheeler." Still, worth a shot for both clubs. Both players were sunk costs.
