Luis Guillorme has indeed been called up; Tomas Nido has been optioned not to Binghamton but to Las Vegas.

Re: Luis Luis

Luis comes in riding a nine-game hitting streak with Las Vegas, with at least two hits in each of the last six games, and a triple and a homer in his very last game. He's very hot right now.

Here's hoping they get him into the lineup. A .394 OBP!

Will wear No. 15, last worn by Jerry Grote as far as I'm concerned.

You just made George Foster and Carlos Beltran pout.

Well, that re-sets up the the great Tim Tebow conflict that the Mets seemingly escaped when they sold Matt Reynolds' contract to Washington.

To be honest, the first 15 that popped into my head was Val Pascucci.

Well, as you've demonstrated, you have a notoriously poor memory regarding Mets history.

It can be weirdly spotty as the picture adjusts.

What were you talking about? I forget.

Re: Luis Luis

I was really thinking No. 3 for Guillorme. Nido won't be back for awhile

Re: Luis Luis

A leftover from spring training, but a good story about Luis' playroom. I had believed the Mets' site which had reported him as US-born.

Luis Guillorme Sr. knocked down a wall to turn two rooms into one large one. With a little imagination, Luis Jr. turned it into his personal defense experimentation zone. He’d get whatever balls he could — baseballs, tennis balls, racquetballs — and entertain himself for hours while unknowingly building his now-incredible hand-eye coordination.

“Kids here have a little playroom with toys and stuff,” Guillorme said. “I had an empty room with nothing in it but a ball and a glove.”

Too bad pops didn't also build a batting cage.

Re: Luis Luis

Does Mickey have the stones to play him every day at 3b, including some starts at SS and 2b when Frazier gets back, and will he put his solid OB% at the top of the order? This team needs an injection.

Yes. This is very true. Hey Siri, where's the closest BALCO?

He was actually issued No. 14 but Mickey Callaway got the order screwed up
