While I like that 1985 uses the uniform as the background -- racing stripes and pinstripes -- I just noticed the odd cropping on the top of the Doc photo, and Davey too, to an extent. Why is the background cropped out? Why is it uneven for Doc?

I always come back to Keith's head between Doc's legs. But I still prefer '85.

I like the cover to be something (or someone) meaningful to that specific year.
The 2011 cover is too generic.

The 2011 looks like a Dow stock annual report or something.
(but I voted for it anyway)

Re: Yearbook Cover Derby Round 2.03 1985 vs 2011

"Hey, Davey, look! I'm perfecting my curveball! Hey!"
"It's no use, Doc."
"Why not, Keith? Davey's the manager. How come we can't get his attention?"
"Davey dabbles in real estate in the offseason and he's mesmerized by that new development."
"Metsmerized?"
"That's not a word, Doc."
"Try telling that to George. He's been walking around the clubhouse muttering it to himself."
"Mesmerized. Fascinated. Distracted. Davey's mind is not on our drills."
"What's so great about what he's looking at instead of us? I'm the Rookie of the Year and you just won another Gold Glove. We're the Rising Stars!"
"I dunno, Doc. That brochure he got in the mail has got a very sleek picture on the cover."
"What's it called? The development?"
"2011 Yearbook. Must be one of those fancy places where they use the address as the name."

"I thought all the best places had the developer's name on it, like that rich guy who owns the Generals."
"That man's going places. I'd love to be invited to one of his New Year's Eve parties. Maybe someday if I network enough. Listen, I only glanced at the brochure, but 2011 Yearbook seems pretty popular. Lotta people. Lotta grass, too. I think I see something about a "city" spelled weird."
"So Davey's into gentrification?"
"Gentrification used to pitch here. Gary Gentrification."
"Huh?"
"Forget it, Doc. Kind of a joke. I keep forgetting how young you are."
"Davey's forgetting about us. He just keeps looking away no matter how hard I throw, no matter how ready you are to pounce on the next grounder that tries to get by you."
"Don't worry about Davey. It's like Lou Brock used to tell me..."

"Another Lou Brock story, Keith?"
"You youngsters get away with so much sass these days. Bob Gibson wouldn't let me drink in the same bar as the rest of the team when I was at your stage."
"Did you win 17 games as a rookie?"
"Good point, Doc. I don't know about 2011 Yearbook, but I do know we have quite a team shaping up this year. We're gonna look sleek in these racing stripes, too. Sleeker than any real estate brochure."
"Why don't we get Gary and Darryl and some of the other guys over here? Maybe Jay could get somebody to take a picture of a whole bunch of us, really get the fans excited about the coming season."
"Nah, we have a pretty good duo for now. A trio, counting Davey. We'll get his attention eventually. It's 1985, we'll get everybody's attention real soon."
