The correct answers*:
Elster88 Mar 30 2006 06:36 AM |
I was thinking ERA (low) and (high) would be for the whole team. BAA, too.

Bret Sabermetric Mar 30 2006 07:02 AM |

Some typos in Metirish's post, misplaced decimal points in the ERA figures, and a '4'" instead of '3' in Reyes' OBP. Is this correct, Irish?
Elster88 Mar 30 2006 07:27 AM |
Bump...as the annoying capitalized title states, I couldn't remember what section 3 was from last year's Met Predictions. I remembered it and added in. This is a fun game.
Johnny Dickshot Mar 30 2006 08:22 AM |
While you're at it, maybe add a whacky tiebreaker: Total number of rainouts.
Elster88 Mar 30 2006 08:31 AM |
I dunno. I wasn't in charge.

Folks, don't be afraid of Bret. If he tries to make fun of your prediction for Reyes' OBP or whatever the fuck, just ignore him. He's just a malcontent looking for attention. I encourage you to update your predictions to include the new team categories on the first post of this thread. You can't win if you don't play.
Bret Sabermetric Mar 30 2006 01:34 PM |
You can't win if you post ridiculous things, either. Just trying to give Irish a chance to get his posts back to earth.

Updates after one month of play. How are you doing?
Elster88 May 01 2006 07:46 AM |
I missed this question. No inning minimums. The only minimums are on the hitting categories: BA and OBP.
Johnny Dickshot May 01 2006 08:13 AM |
Pedro has 5 wins, yes?
Elster88 May 01 2006 08:14 AM |

Updates exactly 1/3 of the way through the season. How are you doing? Next update after game 81.
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 10:34 AM |
Maybe their should be a starts minimum for starter-specific categories and an innings minimum for all pitching categories. I'll assign them if no one else speaks up. Or if no one else cares.
Elster88 Jul 06 2006 02:47 PM Re: Met Predictions 2006 |
Updates about 1/2 of the way through the season (after 84 games). Next update after game 108.

7.5 as the projected high for losses by a pitcher is pretty nice. Though it mostly is due to the high number of pitchers used this year.
Elster88 Jul 31 2006 08:03 AM |
I don't think anyone picked Darren Oliver to lead the team in (low) ERA.
Elster88 Jul 31 2006 08:04 AM |
Can a friendly neighborhood mod put this into the baseball forum?
cooby Jul 31 2006 08:05 AM |
Was Darren Oliver here when we made our picks?
Elster88 Jul 31 2006 09:22 AM |
Awww crap. Those counts are wrong. We're not at the 2/3 mark until after Friday's game. I'll redo them this weekend.
Elster88 Jul 31 2006 09:23 AM |
Ummm. Not sure. I think so. That's a little to the side of what I was getting at. I was underlining my surprise at seeing his ERA at 2.04 and leading the team. Whether he was on the team or not, I doubt the number of times he was picked (zero) would've changed.
Elster88 Aug 07 2006 08:00 AM |
Updates about 2/3 of the way through the season (after 110 games). Last update after game 142.
Elster88 Aug 07 2006 08:00 AM |
I'll once again post my plea for this to be put to the baseball forum.

3 - 2 - 1 or 10 - 4 - 1 throw us a bone for getting close? triple your work :D
Elster88 Oct 03 2006 08:30 PM |
Not sure what you mean marathon. So if I were to use 3-2-1, does that mean if you get it right you get 3, if more than one person get it right they get 2 each, and if no one gets it right the closest person(s) get 1?
Elster88 Oct 03 2006 08:51 PM |
Anyone else feel like suggesting something?
Johnny Dickshot Oct 03 2006 09:04 PM |
Just score it, and we'll bitch afterward, It's the American Way.
Edgy MD Oct 03 2006 09:48 PM |
We have rpackrat --- who we haven't heard from in five months --- on the first page of this thread.
Elster88 Oct 03 2006 09:50 PM |
In this case, I'd rather go with my original way of scoring it, since I already did the counting.
metsmarathon Oct 03 2006 10:33 PM |
sorry. i was being unclear. 3 points for the closest to teh right answer, 2 points for next closest, and 1 for third closest.
