Mets Weekly and Me

Mentioned in the "Gary Cohen to MTV" thread a couple of weeks ago this was in the works, but now it's confirmed that I'll be on this weekend's Mets Weekly on SNY as part of a Blogger's Roundtable. It will air 12:30 PM Saturday with reairings 9:30 PM and 12:30 AM and on Sunday at 7:00 PM and 11:30 PM. Monday at 6:30 PM, too (or all day if there's a rain delay). This is Part I of the BR, so presumably there's a Part II.

And I'm also writing for the show, specifically some bumper-type profiles of current and, eventually, '86 Mets. Should start to air as early as next weekend's program (4/8).

Hope you get a chance to watch and hope I'm not a total turnoff.

I want your life.

But you earned it.

Nice spot today Greg.

Thanks SI. I feel a little bad, in retrospect, about booing Metsblog's fiancee the Yankee fan, but if I hadn't, I think I'd feel worse.

We just caught the 7:00 replay. MK thinks that Greg was "pretty good," and I think that he did great :)

I saw this show but only saw the thread now, which one were you?...

Glasses, Mets jacket on the left of the screen.

As a writer for the channel I command you to submit a script for Metstery Science Theatre 3000 aka: Random Crappy Met Rerun posthaste.

Three of us should get together and watch a random game, transcribe it (pumping up the tedious banter, of course, to make us sound as witty on the spot as we are in quiet confersation), and get G-Fafif to turn it in.

I really am 1000% behind that idea.

But to make it authentic, we first need a random crappy Met game on tape in which we don;t know the year, not the winner or loser.

Ooh, can I play? That'd be fun.

If I have that kind of pull (and I don't), I'll direct it to convincing SNY to broadcast all nine innings of their next game. And the game after that.

You know that's really not a bad idea - combining MST3000 and Cheap Seats.

Ya gotta believe that SNY is turning over rocks looking for programming.

I'd totally watch a show like that if done well.

It would be like a filmed I-G-T.
Think of all the fun we could have coming up with new and creative ways to demonstrate KABOOMs

My blog partner and I are scheduled to appear as a unit this weekend on "Mets Weekly" as part of a "Best Week Ever"/"I Love The '80s" type segment for those of you who watch too much VH1. They threw us various topics on which Jason and I riffed; I assume our comments will be edited in with various others (at least one other blogger and some comedians and writers who are Mets fans, but none who would qualify as a Met-Lovin' Big Shot as far as I know).

The show is on Saturday 12:30 pm, Saturday 6:30 pm, Sunday 12:30 am, Sunday 7:00 pm, Sunday 11:30 pm. It also seems to be on at least once a day the rest of the week...or as long as the NFL Draft.
