The Mets have claimed reliever Chris Beck off of waivers from the Chicago White Sox. After putting up ERAs north of six (SIX!) each of the last two seasons, it would be easy to call the newest Met a loser, and wonder why you don't kill him, but he was pitching wellish, if not well (4.14 ERA) so far this season. Big righthander who likes to rock a pedophile mustache. You know, 20 years or so ago, you had to be careful walking on the beaches down the shore because hypodermic needles would sometimes wash up on the sand along with all the other trash. Not sure why that thought popped into my head right now.
