With most of the field yet to tee off from this year's 1st round of the U.S. Open out in eastern L.I., some of the early (full round) scores from some pretty darn good golfers just jumped out and

I was stuck in a two and a half hour traffic jam this afternoon and my wife likes to listen to CBS News Radio in the car. I heard the sports twice an hour. So this title thread wasn't a surprise. But the reporters spent a lot of time telling us how badly the name players were performing and you had to listen closely to hear the names of the leaders. Later

Shinnecock Hills kicked the pros collective asses today. I love it when the conditions at a course frustrates professionals and makes them score like amateur weekend hackers.

I suppose I could have chosen a more tasteful subject heading, but it never actually occurred to me that someone would think it was a mass crime at the nearby Shinnecoock Reservation

I was thinking some kind of bloodbath at the golf club. Maybe some black ladies weren't playing fast enough again.
I never heard of any of these guys, but boy, I could not have done better if somebody asked me "Name four guys who sound like they like to golf."

I like Ricky Fowler. He's got the build of a tennis player, the name of a NASCAR driver, and a haircut that out of an early 70s bubble glam band.
