The Mets could win their first series since since sweeping the Diamondbacks in a 3 game set at CitiField (May 18-20). Since that time they have lost 10 series and manged a split 2 series (4 game set @ Atlanta and the recent 2 game set @ Toronto). Hopefully, the team can get the first series win in 7 weeks.

The poll for the day concerns TBR XBHs vs NYM balls hit out of the infield So far it's 3-0 in favor of TB (two 2Bs & 1 HR) as the Mets "offense" so far today consists of 2 GOs, 3 Ks, and a foul pop-out to the catcher.

This team really knows how to spoil an otherwise beautiful day. Another series lost. Another game and another embarrassingly inept offensive showing. Repeatedly trotting the Las Vegas pitching staff (starters & relievers) to the mound has demonstrated how little depth the organization has. The present is awfully bad and the immediate future does not look very promising either.

I don't think it's necessarily a matter of depth. I don't think a team in the Mets position should be burying both Lugo and Gsellman in the pen. That's a deployment issue, not appreciating that such talent has a higher value starting the rubber game rather than sitting in the pen waiting for a situation that's never going to come.
