Memories of Hansel Robles

Gave 54 solid innings to the glory-bound 2015 Mets. Pitched three perfect innings in the post-season, too.

Quick pitches. That one game where he drilled someone and got tossed when we really needed him in there.

Has one of the widest split perceptions of any recent reliever I can think of, in that I wouldn't be surprised if he gave up three straight home runs *or* struck out the side.

Against the Phillies. Started a little brawl, I think.

Guy I tended to forget was on the staff until he issued high-flying, long-traveling reminders. Seemed like depth when he was going well. Seemed like death the rest of the time. Pissing off Larry Bowa was a plus.

Real solid down the stretch of 2015. Particularly in relief of Harvey in what would become the Wilmer walkoff against the Nats.

Keep those pics coming. Everything else is just brutal.

I might make this one into a .gif that shows Mr. Met actually falling off.

Re: Memories of Hansel Robles

So Robles pitched for the Angels today. One inning, the 10th, and gave up a dinger to lose the game.
I wonder if this photo is of the HR?
He's pointing up, lolol. That would be tooooooooo funny.

Upon further review I think that was just his follow through, although maybe for that one instant he considered pointing up.

Proof that good form in back-of-the-bullpen guys can come and go very quickly.

Signed a baseball for the Lunchpail once. I liked him, he was an ornery bastard.

Who signed that ball -- Rusty Staub?

Re: Memories of Hansel Robles

Robles's 2nd outing w/Anaheim this afternoon, coming in to start bottom 8th with his team down 1-0:
Walk -- Hit-n-run Single (1st & 3rd) -- RBI Single (1st & 2nd) -- GiDP (3rd) - K

So very typical of Hansel this year: 1 inning, 2 hits plus a walk, could have been worse

Re: Memories of Hansel Robles

A lot of short at bats because of long home runs.
