We should just preemptively forfeit deGrom games. It would save wear and tear on him and the outcome would be the same anyway.

Tonight's loss drops the Mets into last place as they play leapfrog with ineptitude rivals, the Miami Marlins. More important, the Mets gain two slots as they jockey for position in next year's amateur draft. If the season ended today, the Mets'd pick sixth. Yesterday, they would've drafted eighth. Gotta root for something.
