I think most here know that David Wright sits just 10 HRs short of the NYM career record and that he already holds many of the team records including most hits and most RBIs.

Couple of gimmes in this list, first one being Hammerin Hank of course.

Aaron is correct, as are Brett & Helton (when in doubt, go for newer franchises) but Mays is NOT.

Not sure which franchise you're aiming at here, but it doesn't matter since he's not an answer for any of them. Rusty played for five different orgs but none for particularly long which makes him an unlikely candidate for this type of answer.

Not as long as Teddy Ballgame (or at least his frozen head) still haunts the hallways of Fenway Park he isn't.

Longoria for the Rays.

Edgy MD Aug 08 2018 01:12 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |
Cal Ripken.

Neither Banks nor Longoria is correct.

Ted Williams.

Edgy MD Aug 08 2018 01:18 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |
Nope. Yaz. Duh.
|
Frayed Knot Aug 08 2018 01:22 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |
Yaz holds the Boston marks for both hits (by a LOT, Ted both walked and flew planes too often) & RBI (by just FIVE!) but Ted leads the HR race 521-475

I thought of him, but Ichiro has to have the franchise hit record. I mean, if he didn't, he'd play into his nineties trying to get it.

Oh right. Geez. Completely forgot Ichiro.

Frayed Knot Aug 08 2018 02:07 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |
Seeing as how it's already been established that Ryan Zimmerman holds the Montreal/Washington record in all three categories, you would do well to stop guessing ex Ex Pos

Frank Thomas, White Sox?

Frayed Knot Aug 08 2018 05:05 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |
There were six answers (in addition to Zimmerman who makes it seven) and Gonzalez & Musial rounded out the six, so please hold all future calls.

Edgy MD Aug 08 2018 05:17 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |
I guess the next challenge is finding which teams have a different character holding each of those three marks.

Benjamin Grimm Aug 08 2018 08:13 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |
It will be true of the Mets too if Jose Reyes gets 15 hits per year for the next 17 years.

Frayed Knot Aug 08 2018 09:18 PM Re: Wednesday Trivia |

17 hits per year for the next 15 seasons is much more realistic IMO.

That's like the lottery tickets that sound good to an MFY Bleacher Creature - winner gets a dollar a year for a million years.
