The Cards beat the Dodgers 5-3 on Monday night in a 9-inning game that took 4:10 -- that puts the end at about 2:20 our time. The 8 combined runs is below average for a ML game and there's nothing unusual about 17 hits. The 25 Ks are a bit high (although not that much) and the 14 walks (10 issued by StL) was certainly excessive. Lots of pitchers used as always, but only four changes were mid-inning and those are the only ones which add time. But, still, what the fuck were they doing all that time?!? Just as a reminder, that wild back-and-forth 10-9 Game 7 1960 WS game (19 runs, 25 hits, 9 pitchers) clocked in at 2:36
btw, Kenley Jansen was back and, with all the games that the Dodgers have been blowing late, they (rightfully IMO) didn't want to wait for a save opp and so brought him into a 3-3 game to start the top-9th. He promptly gave up back-to-back HRs to start the inning. Oh well.
