Syndergaard vs. Alcantara to put a capper on a season in the crapper, yet this whole Mets baseball every day thing will be missed as soon as it hits us that it's not here. So I'd suggest enjoying whatever is left to enjoy. First pitch 3:10 PM. Last pitch far too soon.

Mets not only winning the game (a 1-0 thriller heading for the 7th) but, seeing as how this game is furthest along of all the simultaneously starting games, they're also 'winning' the race to finish the season first.

What was the time on that replay review? Seemed like four or five minutes. Why is it that the (supposed) rules of procedure always seem to get suspended when Mattingly is managing?

Technically, Mattingly isn't managing today, but yeah, that was a long time. Meanwhile, Syndergaard heading out to the mound looking for a complete-game 1-0 win on closing day. Who does he think he is? Terry Leach?

That June was deadly. If they had played .500 in June (and everything else stayed the same) the Mets would have had 85 wins.

We were there! Short Center and his school sang the anthem before the game. Saw metfairy briefly and met Greg in person for the first time. Not a bad way to end the season.
