TWIB: 2018 Regular Season Retrospective

Khris Davis hit .247 ... for the fourth year in a row!!

CHRIS Davis, meanwhile, hit .168, and still managed to get 522 plate appearances to do it in. I know that's at least the lowest average going back to 1920. (Dan Uggla 2013 and Rob Deer 1991 each hit .179, with both going 80-for-448.)

If anybody ever hit lower than Davis and qualified for the batting title, it must've been a REALLY good catcher from the Dead Ball Era.

Re: TWIB: 2018 Regular Season Retrospective

Now that we know the two play-in games will happen we also know that the stats from those games will be considered regular season games giving Christian Yelich and extra shot at the first Triple Crown
in the NL since 1937
He's only two RBIs off the lead in the only category in which he's not either leading or tied, but Javy Baez is the current RBI leader and he also gets the extra game to try and pad his lead.

It's official. That .168 average is, apparently, the worst qualifying mark ever. Davis finished the season in a 1-for-37 rut.

Davis has a Bonilla of a contract and will be getting $2.8 million every year from 2023 through 2037.
