Have the Yanquis ever NOT thought the opposing runner left early? It seems to me that they always appeal the play when an opposing runner tags and then expect the call to go their way each time. 5-0 BRS after 3. Happ lasted 2-1/3 and was charged with all five earned.

OMG. That was so much fun. My wife got home from her work event last night and found me beaming at the 11-1 score. She was like "Let's watch John Oliver". It was in the 8th inning, and I really wanted to see the last out, so I said, sure. Recorded the rest of the game. Anyway, watched John Oliver, got all upset about Kavanaugh again, but then turned the game back on. It was still on! 16-1. Beautiful.

That Sabathia generates a lot of grounders, Neil Walker will get tonight's start over the atrocious-fielding Miguel Andujar. Also Gardner and Aaron Hicks are in LF & CF, McCutcheon to the bench. It can't be too much to ask that Rick Porcello out-pitches CC, can it? And poor Brock Holt, hits for a cycle one day and is benched the next (he usually sits vs LHPs)

Especially with an idea that Kimbrel/Cora would rather have dealt with Judge on the bases, as opposed to making it a 2-run game with one swing!

They fucked all their starters. Yanqui starters for the series: 4 starts, 13 innings, 15 ER, 19 H, 6 BB, 9 K and if you take Tanaka's 5 IP / 1 R / 3 H out of that mix it becomes 14 earned on 16 Hits in 10 innings

You can’t put a number on soul. I agree with Michael Kay. I think the Yankees should abandon analytics immediately.

Torre used to use the word 'heartbeat' all the time and largely for the same purposes. You can probably get where Kay picked it up.
