Among the roster moves today was Reinheimer being claimed by the Cubs.

Montero and Evans opting for free agency, so they could be back.

My only memory of him was that I went to school with a kid named Steven Reinheimer, and I don't know if they're related to each other.

he wasn't very good. Specific memories are few, but had a shot to make some.

Re: Memories of Jack Reinheimer

Rhino's best game was his last, coming in for a hamstrung Brandon Nimmo in that long extra-inning excursion in the penultimate game. He ended up having a Nimmo of a game, going 1-1 with two walks in a game the Mets ultimately won 1-0 in 16 innings.

He even stole the first, and thus far only, base of his career, off of future-Mets catcher Bryan Holaday.

Got his first hit in the Mets' 16-run onslaught in Baltimore. Played an inadequate left field in Philadelphia. Got picked off as a pinch-runner in Boston. An interesting player from an Acela standpoint.
