I guess bat isn't quite the right word. I'll take his _Batting eye_ and his .330 OBP over the last two years. Sure, his overall numbers are roughly league average, but I'll take making fewer outs over the more nebulous catcher defense boost you'd get from Maldonado who can't hit a lick.
