Patrick Corbin Nearing a Decision

Per Jon Heyman.

Yankees, Phillies and Nats considered serious contenders.

I haven't heard the Mets linked to him, but I guess it's somewhat relevant in that if we trade Syndergaard, one of his possible replacements would be off the table.

Also, it seems generally things are moving a lot faster than last season.

You need to dress up like a fat Princess Leia, that's how you nab him.

That pretty much needed to happen in order avoid labor Armageddon. I'm sure that MLB Network will enjoy the ratings boost as well. Last winter was awful.

The only way for an offseason to move slower than last year's would be if it were to go backwards.

Corbin to sign with Washington, according to ESPN.

Wow. His velocity had an unexplained drop last season, and while he pitched through it and pitched well, it’s enough of a red flag to limit what I’d have bid on him.

Corbin doesn't scare me, but it does raise the stakes to be certain starting pitching is straightened out. I go back to my ALL ACES strategy and think what the Mets need to do is add a guy like Eovaldi and bring it.

This is becoming an interesting offseason as its the first I can remember where 4 NL East teams are flat-out going for it. It's going to be a very disappointing season for someone

And MLB Network sez that Phils are hot for Madison Bumgarner. Kitchen's getting hot!

If the Mets stand pat with deGrom/Syndergaard/Wheeler/Matz, I think that they can stand up with whoever else.

Matz is extremely unreliable, I think he should go to bullpen school.

Yeah, sure. Let's trade Syndergaard. Easily replaceable with a free agent pitcher. No problem.
