Winter 2018-19

2-5" of snow and ice expected up here and maybe some rain. I like the four
seasons, but it feels more natural if the first snow is in December?

Re: Winter 2018-19

Ugh, I really don't care for it, and yes seems early although I had a FB memory the other day of snow a few years back. Should be a crap commute home. I am out at 4 so I should be good .

They's just hoping that summer falls on a weekend next year.

I never raked my leaves. Is that bad?

Over 4 hours to get home tonight, including a 30 minute stop to get a bite to eat, hoping that the plows would come through (they did).

6 hours 30 min getting home from Westchester medical center, just at 4 and just walked in the door a few minutes ago, cars abandoned all over the Bronx River , what a fucking mess but I'm glad to have made it home ok.

Yes.
The local TV news just said there'll be another 1-2 inches of snow coming through this morning at the tail end of the storm.
Al Roker is getting a lot of flak this morning for the weathermen missing this forecast this badly. He's hoping for a Sharknado attack to change the subject.

And to think I just bought a bunch of Autumn scented Scentsys on Wednesday. I love the smell of leaves! At least now I can still smell them but I'll miss the real thing so soon.

FMan, we never rake. It won't hurt anything. It's a myth.

Re: Winter 2018-19

My 1-hour drive took me 5 1/2 hours yesterday, and I left early. Didn't matter. Just glad I didn't crash.

Driving the Pulaski Skyway when it's a sheet of ice is not good for the blood pressure.

Re: Winter 2018-19

The drive times were definitely a theme last night in the tri-state area. Mama
Nature caught the plow/salt folks with the their trousers around the ankles and
no joy roll in the stall. Half a foot of snow shouldn't be such an issue in this area.

Re: Winter 2018-19

We got 9 heavy inches

Kids are off today. I'm working from home and hanging with Fboy. Fgirl is down the street at her buddy's house.

Good solid 45 minutes of shoveling this morning to allow my wife to get out to work. Cardio!

Exactly!

I guess because it's the first snowfall. By March we'll be poo pooing a six inch snowfall

Final total - 10.6 inches - highest in the State. Not the kind of recognition one wants to have.

Three, four inches than most is recognition worthy.

Re: Winter 2018-19

Snowed again up here today.
Just a dusting, but just enough that it was easier to move off with a shovel than to brush.
