Sometimes, people with similar surnames are linked in my mental rolodex, so I tend to imagine that they're related, even if one or both are entirely fictional. This morning I couldn't shake the notion that Dean Torrence, falsetto singer for 1960s surf vocal duo Jan & Dean, had an older brother named Jack, a failed novelist who died trying to axe his family to death in a Colorado hotel in the late 1970s.

I try never to think of the Baldwin brothers. btw, aren't the Baldwin sisters (there are two) kind of the Rob Kardashians of their family?

I served on student council -- we called it General Organization for some reason -- in high school with one of the Baldwin sisters. She's really nice!
