Merry Christmas!

Wishing all the friends in the Crane Pool Forum a wonderful Christmas, and a happy, healthy 2019.

There was much to celebrate in 2018, as well as many challenges to overcome. It's nice to know that we have a community here to share these ups and downs of baseball and beyond, friends -- even through many of us have never met outside of these pages. We celebrate and mourn together.

The end of the year is always a time to reflect, and I know I've been blessed in many ways. Being able to be a part of this forum is one of those blessings.

All the best to everyone!

Re: Merry Christmas!

We had a beautiful day...

My son and his wife had us up to their house that they just bought in October...it looks out over their backyard which is a hillside down from a forest. All sorts of animals and birds come right up to their sliding glass doors so we watched them!

Had presents and a delicious meal.

My daughter in law texted me at midnight Christmas Eve in a panic because the roast she had planned to have had spoiled in the fridge. I told her whatever they came up with would be wonderful, and it was. They scrounged around and found two steaks which they put in the crockpot with potatoes and carrots, and it was marvelous. As a backup they had chicken, corn, peas, mashed potatoes, and au gratin potatoes...lol. We feasted!

Today my daughter and her family and my mom were to come down, but the little ones have sore throats (I saw their Christmas morning video; they are probably sore from screeching in delight!) so that will be tomorrow instead :D

Hubby and I opened our gifts last night.

Oh, and I got a shock when I saw a possum eating our outdoor cat's supper so now we have that to deal with. Grrrr.

Re: Merry Christmas!

You can work with opossa. And the cat is probably better at defending its dish than the opossum is at raiding it.

They mean no harm (cats, on the other hand, are not to be messed with), and they're fascinating. An opportunistic omnivore American marsupial with a prehensile tail, opposable thumbs, and a forked penis? They'll be running this planet someday if they can get their SAT scores up and maybe learn some better martial skills than playing dead.

Re: Merry Christmas!

I've lived on a street named Possum Drive for 42 years and have never seen a possum here.
Seen a lot of skunks, deer, groundhogs (my wife has named the male Tommy Lee) and bunnies.

Re: Merry Christmas!

Wait. Forked penis? I’m glad I’m not a girl possum. I thought ridged rubbers sounded bad enough

Im hoping Pierce (named for Jeremy’s friend Pierce in Zits) could take him, but I haven’t seen Pierce all week :(
And Tommy Lee is a sweet name :)

Xmas morning highlight: Moving a tall storage unit in Lunchpail's room to access an outlet, move sent soccer trophies on top tumbling down onto my skull. OWWWW

Be careful.
Getting hit on the head often enough could turn you into an MFY fan.
