Says Dwight Bernard in a candid 1979 interview

My goofing around the Kingman thread below got me into a kind of rabbit hole where I'm trying to de-conflate Dwight Bernard with Mark Bomback (who were traded for one another), with Mike Birkbeck and Mark Bruhert (and also, Scott Holman)

I wonder why they sucked, Mister 1.804 WHIP.

(Although, interestingly, he faced 14 batters in four postseason appearances in 1981 and 1982 and retired all 14. Neat.)

I think the game in Montreal he references must have been this one where that no-talent hack Ed Glynn got the save in relief of washed-up celebrity soft-tosser Dock Ellis.

Such a beardy staff they had in 1979. It was like long hair was to the 2016 pitching squad.
