Twas too damn late and too damn cold for me to check out the Super-Blood-Wolf Lunar Eclipse Sunday night/Monday morning

But if you're an early riser, the two bright objects in close proximity to each other in the SE sky prior to sunrise are Venus and Jupiter.

Venus is the considerably brighter and slightly higher of the two.

Re: Skywatch 2019

I love your sky watches! I no longer have to get up at 5 and go babysit but maybe when it warms up I will get up and check out some of the other events you tell us about

Re: Skywatch 2019

I have an app I use on my crappy tablet called Star Walk 2 that maps

this stuff in real time. It was free and at some point I upgraded for a few

bucks. It's the cats balls if anyone is interested in what's in the sky.

Re: Skywatch 2019

Biggest and brightest full moon of the year tonight/tomorrow AM ... assuming you don't have clouds of course.

Re: Skywatch 2019

If you happened to be looking at the western sky within the last hour or so, the lower and brighter 'star' you saw above the setting sun was Venus with Jupiter right in line with it and just a bit higher.

Over the next few days they'll gradually move closer to each other (Venus having the inside track and all) until Sunday when they'll be within 1.5 degrees of each other (the width of a couple of full

moons) setting together not quite two hours after sunset.
