Tigers learn bigger isn't always better

The Tigers are famously traditional when it comes to uniforms, especially the home whites. But last season the team made two changes that startled the locals. It changed the Old English D on the jersey so it matched the Old English D on the cap. Many folks didn't know the difference, but if you looked closely one was curvier and thicker. The other move was to enlarge the size of the Old English D on the cap. Apparently someone thought that all the kids these days want things bigger, bolder and flashier. That didn't last. The team announced yesterday it was changing the cap logo, making it not quite as small as it was, but pretty close. Except for one year in the 1960s, the D had been constant for 80 years.Tiger

Thread title could also apply to Detroit's signing of Josh Harrison, an apple of the Mets' offseason eye last year. Josh Harrison should be Exhibit A for the "speed, defense and versatility" crowd. Get me the guy who can hit. To think some were ok with giving up Nimmo for Harrison.
